A Baby Story

Monday the 17th we went for my doctor's appointment and he said that I was progressing and that I would go into labor any day. Then he said, "Oh yeah, did I tell you I will be out of town Wednesday through Sunday?" Um...no! So, my options were to wait and use one of his associates if it happened when he was gone, or he said we could induce Tuesday. So, we thought about it for a few hours and decided to go ahead and induce Tuesday morning.

At 8 am we got to the hospital and got checked in. Around 10 am the doctor came to check me and broke my water. Then I got the pitocin (to start contractions) and the epidural. After just a few hours of labor the doctor said we were ready to push! We're not sure what happened with the epidural, but as soon as I started to push I felt everything! Thankfully I only pushed for 10 minutes before she was born...but it was the most excrutiating thing ever! Props to all you moms out there who give birth without pain meds! When she came out the doctor said, "She is big!" Later we found out she was over 8 and a half pounds! Caedmon was only 7 and a half, so I was greatly surprised!

We only stayed in the hospital for one night, and came home on Wednesday. We are all doing well, and Caedmon is loving having a little sister...so far!
