Five Years

On Friday the 12th, Matthew and I will celebrate 5 years of marriage. It's amazing to see how our lives have changed in the past 5 years. When we got married, I was teaching 3rd grade in Farmersville, and Matthew was finishing up his last semester at Texas A&M Commerce. Now here we are, living in Jordan with a 2 year old son and a baby girl coming in a couple of months!

Each year we have taken a little trip for our anniversary, just to get away from the norm and have a relaxing, fun time together. This year we are going to Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, a resort town at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula. Some friends of ours went recently and told us about a great package deal they found. So, we're leaving tomorrow for a few nights! I am really looking forward to getting away for a couple of days and having some quality family time. Jeff will stay here and take care of Kaiser, but Caedmon will come with us. I would just miss him too much if he wasn't with us. Besides...Jeff has still never changed his diaper, so poor Caedmon might be walking around poopy for 3 days until we got back if we left him here! The hotel we're staying at has complimentary daycare during the day anyway, so we'll have a chance to drop him off and do some things by ourselves. My dad suggested that we go scuba diving....but I don't think anyone (including me) wants to see all this in a wet suit!

Here are a few pictures from our wonderful wedding and anniversary trips:

Congratulations! Have a wonderful time in Egypt! Sounds great - with daycare and everything!

Russ and I took the girls to Chic-fil-a tonight and we ate right next to a Jordanian family. While I was taking care of Ruthie, Russ took Noa into the playground area and was able to talk a little bit with the kids. We didn't think the parents knew english. But anyway... made us think of you guys! He asked me what city you were in (I think they were asking him), I said maybe Amman, but I didn't know... Where are you?
